Wood moves. The single number that decides whether a veneer sheet stays flat or bubbles, cracks and warps on your panel is moisture content (MC). For a furniture or cabinetry buyer, it is the difference between a clean press and a rejected batch.

Why MC causes problems
When veneer leaves the slicer it is saturated. If it is laminated onto a board at the wrong MC, the two layers expand and shrink at different rates as the room humidity changes. The result is telegraphing, open joints and edge lifting — usually discovered after the panel is already built.
Our target range
For export orders we condition sliced veneer to 8%–12% MC, matched to the destination climate. Orders going to dry, heated interiors in Europe or North America are dried toward the lower end; tropical-market orders are kept slightly higher to avoid post-delivery cracking.
How we control it
- Kiln drying of flitches before slicing, so the wood is stable from the start.
- Conditioning after slicing in a humidity-controlled room, not just oven-dry.
- Spot checks with a pinned MC meter on every batch, recorded on the QC sheet.
- Re-check before packing, because veneer re-absorbs moisture during storage if the warehouse is not controlled.
Getting MC right is invisible work — but it is the reason your panels do not fail three months after installation.
